JERICHO: Israeli colonists this evening began the groundwork for a new illegal colonial outpost in the Al-Ma'rajat area, northwest of the city of Jericho, according to local sources. Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of the Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, said that a group of colonists set up a colonial outpost near the Arab Al-Kaabna Basic School in the Al-Ma'rajat area. Malihat warned that such a step threatens the Palestinian presence in the region. Israeli colonial activities in the occupied West Bank are illegal under international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention which expressly prohibits the relocation of the civil population of the occupying power to the land of the occupied.
