Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Tuesday discussed the regional and international efforts to stop the Israeli war on Gaza to avoid a regional war. Safadi and Lavrov discussed over the phone realising a ceasefire in Gaza, the fallout of the assassination of the chief of the Palestinian Hamas' political bureau, Ismael Haniyeh, and the Israeli escalation in southern Lebanon. The top diplomats' focus in the talks was to avoid a full-out regional war. Safadi praised Russia for rejecting Israel's war on Gaza and supporting the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and statehood based on the two-state solution. Source: Jordan News Agency
