Jerusalem: Israeli occupation authorities have issued new land seizure orders, targeting 140 dunums of privately-owned Palestinian land in the town of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem. The orders were issued in favor of the Israeli municipality.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, local sources reported that the orders were delivered to landowners in Anata. The confiscated land is designated for the construction of a parking lot and the expansion of roads leading to the illegal Ma’ale Adumim settlement.
The targeted land area stretches from the Shu’fat refugee camp checkpoint, past Ma’ale Adumim, and extends to the military base east of Anata. This land is privately owned by Palestinian residents.
This move is part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to implement the so-called E1 settlement project. The project aims to connect Ma’ale Adumim with occupied Jerusalem, effectively cutting off the northern West Bank from the south and undermining the territorial contiguity of a future Palestinian state.
