A meeting in Sana'a today, Monday,which included the Head of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects, Adel Bader, and the water and environmental sanitation specialist at UNICEF discussed aspects of cooperation and coordination between the Authority and the organization. The meeting reviewed the existing partnership to implement water and sanitation projects in rural areas and activities related to water and environmental sanitation emergencies provided by the Authority's Water and Environmental Sanitation Emergency Unit. He touched on the achievement and progress made in the project to update data on water and sanitation projects in rural areas, and the project information management system implemented by the Authority with funding from the organization. Adel Bader expressed hope that UNICEF would continue to support the authority to ensure that water supplies and sanitation services reach residents of rural areas that mainly serve women and children. For his part, the UNICEF water and environment al sanitation specialist stressed the strength of the existing partnership between the organization and the authority, which has resulted in tangible achievements over the past period to reach various regions, whether in development service projects or water and environmental sanitation emergency activities and tasks. He praised the level of performance of the Authority and its branches in the provinces ,the Water Emergency and Environmental Sanitation Unit, stressing UNICEF's keenness to continue the existing cooperation, coordination and partnership in the future.
