The Ministry of Interior announced, today, Friday, a new outcome of 'al-Bataween Operation,' confirming its arrest of 307 defendants. The spokesman for the Interior Ministry and the Security Media Cell, Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, said in a statement, 'The number of those arrested in al-Bataween operation in Baghdad so far has reached (307), accused of various cases.' He added, "The process is still ongoing." It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Interior confirmed yesterday, Thursday, that Al-Bataween operation, which was launched at dawn yesterday, is the beginning of a new strategy in the work of the Ministry of Interior. Yesterday, Thursday morning, the Ministry of Interior launched a security campaign with hundreds of police officers and personnel, in Al-Bataween area in the center of the capital, Baghdad, which resulted in the arrest of more than 200 people accused of prostitution, human trafficking, drugs, weapons possession, and other crimes.
