Kyiv, Ukraine announced Tuesday that the number of Russian soldiers killed and wounded since the beginning of the Russian war on Ukraine in February 2022 has risen to about 512,420 soldiers, including 1,290 soldiers who died or were injured during the past 24 hours. The General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces said in a statement that Ukrainian forces destroyed 7,794 tanks, including 15 yesterday Monday, 15,020 armored combat vehicles, 13,345 artillery systems, 1,092 multiple-launch rocket launcher systems, and 827 air defense systems. The statement added that 357 aircraft, 326 helicopters, 10,766 drones, 2,268 cruise missiles, 27 warships, one submarine, 18,228 vehicles and fuel tanks, and 2,211 special equipment units were also destroyed. Since the outbreak of the military operation in Ukraine in 2022, conflicting reports have emerged regarding the extent of losses suffered by both sides of the conflict. Each side claims to have inflicted severe losses on the other, but it has been difficult to independen tly verify the accuracy of this information due to the ongoing fighting.
