Turkish Ministry of Defense announced Friday the elimination of 15 militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) organization in northern Syria and Iraq. The Ministry explained, in a statement, that its forces killed five militants in the areas of "Gara" and "Al-Makhlab Al-Qaffal" in northern Iraq, and ten others in the areas of the "Euphrates Shield" and "Peace Spring" operations in northern Syria. This news comes one day after the Turkish authorities confirmed that its military forces killed 72 militants in operations carried out last week, bringing the number of deaths of this organization since the beginning of this year to 1,427, including 681 in northern Iraq, and the rest in northern Syria. Ankara has been carrying out continuous military operations to combat PKK militants, who from time to time target regular forces and Turkish civilians alike. Source: Qatar News Agency
