RAMALLAH: Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa underscored the need for unity and prioritizing national interests among Palestinians to navigate ongoing challenges. In a meeting with civil society representatives, he emphasized the importance of strengthening internal cohesion and focusing on Palestinian issues, especially under the constraints posed by the Israeli occupation. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the meeting, held at the Prime Minister's office in Ramallah, was attended by Minister of Interior Maj. Gen. Ziad Hab Al-Reeh and highlighted the government's plans to uphold the rule of law. Dr. Mustafa stressed the collective role of all societal components in safeguarding national interests and protecting citizens' rights and dignity. The Prime Minister reiterated the government's commitment, guided by President Abbas, to support the resilience of the Palestinian people, focusing particularly on the challenges posed by repeated Israeli aggression in the West Bank. "Our top p riority is to end the occupation, halt the aggression on Gaza, and provide relief to our people," Mustafa stated, emphasizing that any national initiative must include Gaza. He called for unity and stability in Jenin and other Palestinian regions, urging all entities to adhere to the rule of law. Civil society representatives echoed this sentiment, condemning acts of vandalism and gunfire as threats to civil peace, and proposed creating a Code of Honor in the Jenin Governorate as a model for others. The civil society groups stressed the need for all individuals to be accountable under the law and highlighted the importance of non-compromise on legal sovereignty. The meeting involved diverse organizations, including the Independent Commission for Human Rights, Al-Haq Human Rights Organization, and the Coalition for Accountability and Integrity - AMAN, among others.
