Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces have issued approximately 30 demolition orders targeting Palestinian homes in the towns of Issawiya and Za’im, located north of occupied Jerusalem.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate announced in a press release on Wednesday that these orders include about 15 stop-work and demolition directives issued on Monday for homes constructed without permits. An additional 15 orders were issued in the Bedouin community of al-Sa’idi in the town of Za’im, east of Jerusalem. Individuals affected by these orders include Ahmed Awda Sa’idi, Awda Ahmed Sa’idi, Khaled Awda Sa’idi, and Muhammad Awda Sa’idi.
The Jerusalem Governorate emphasized that these actions are part of an ongoing Israeli escalation against the Jerusalem areas. The orders are seen as part of a systematic policy aimed at forcibly displacing the Palestinian population, emptying the area of its residents, and imposing a new demographic reality. This strategy is perceived as an effort to weaken the Palestinian presence in the city and facilitate colonial expansion, particularly through the E1 project, which is part of the larger Greater Jerusalem initiative.
