Transport Minister Wissam Tahtamouni on Sunday discussed with Jordan Shipping Association (JSA) and representatives of Jordanian maritime companies, the challenges facing the sector and ways to develop its performance and increase its competitiveness. During the meeting, Tahtamouni stressed the importance of partnership between the Kingdom's public and private sectors to serve the national economy. The minister noted the ministry's partnership with the maritime shipping sector is "important" in facing the challenges of the industry's global competitiveness. The ministry, she noted, is studying the sector's demands to remove obstacles and cooperating in resolving any problems facing its workers. For his part, the JSA head, Dr. Duraid Mahasneh, welcomed the ministry's cooperation to address the sector's demands. Source: Jordan News Agency
