The Mayor of Greater Irbid Municipality, Nabil Kofahi, met on Monday with Ambassador of Ireland to Jordan, Marianne Bolger. The meeting covered aspects of joint cooperation and ways to develop them, especially in exchanging expertise. According to a municipality statement, Kofahi briefed the Irish envoy on the city of Irbid, which is the second largest city in Jordan after Amman, pointing out that Irbid is the commercial, economic, and political center in the northern region and has many archaeological sites and universities. Kofahi emphasized that the municipality continues to provide its services to citizens and that its work is not limited to providing primary services, such as opening and paving streets, to include other aspects, considering that municipalities are developmental units that contribute to the development in various fields of life. In turn, the Irish Ambassador said that the visit aims to review the services provided by the municipality to citizens and ways to develop relations between I rbid Municipality and Irish municipalities, especially in the training field.
