Ramallah - Ma'an - The Corruption Crimes Court, headed by Judge Ramez Musleh and including Judges Mamoun Jamil and Najat Briki, issued a verdict convicting the accused (R.A.) on charges of corruption in accordance with Article (1) and Article (25) of the Anti-Corruption Law No. (1) of 2005 and its amendments, which is represented in illicit gain based on the provisions of Article (1/8) in light of Article (25/2/A) of the same law. The verdict was 15 years in prison with a fine of 1,041,568 shekels, in addition to obligating the accused to return the criminal proceeds to the public treasury of the State of Palestine in the same amount. The court also decided, based on Article (282) of the Criminal Procedures Law No. (3) of 2001, to deprive the convict from disposing of or managing his funds until the amounts imposed are paid. This ruling came after the Public Prosecution was able to prove the facts contained in the details of the accusation through the evidence and proofs it provided that were proven through the investigations.
