Gaza: Over 90% of the production capacity of the Gaza Seawater Desalination Plant is damaged, according to the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA).
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, PWA stated in a press release that the Gaza Seawater Desalination Plant (GSWDP), which produces 10,000 cubic meters of water daily, sustained significant damage of over 90 percent due to the Israeli aggression on Gaza. It reported that the Israeli occupation forces used the GSWDP as a military base during the aggression, leading to the destruction of most of the plant's main components.
The PWA, in collaboration with the Coastal Municipalities Water Utilities (CMWU), has made an inventory of the damages caused by the Israeli bombardment and destruction. It estimated that the rehabilitation of the GSWDP would require approximately $5 million and take a year to complete the necessary repairs.
