898 Military Checkpoints and Gates Besiege Palestinians in the West Bank

Ramallah: The number of Israeli checkpoints and iron gates erected and installed by the occupation army in the West Bank has reached 898, sources confirmed. The installations have long been a point of contention and have significant impacts on the daily lives of Palestinians in the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Director General of Publication and Documentation at the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Amir Daoud, stated during a phone call that 18 iron gates have been installed by the occupation since the beginning of 2025. The most recent installation is the gate at the town of Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya, which was erected this morning. This brings the total number of military checkpoints, including 146 iron gates, to 898 as of October 7, 2023.

Daoud highlighted that colonists, with the protection of the occupation army, have undertaken a series of attacks on Palestinian villages and towns, as well as on citizens' vehicles and property, particularly in eastern Qalqilya. This situation reflects a functional exchange between the colonists and the army, aimed at making life difficult for Palestinians.

For the third consecutive day, the occupation forces have intensified military measures at most of the entrances and exits of the governorates in the West Bank, further restricting movement and access for the Palestinian population.
