Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein and his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, stressed the need to expedite the convening of the joint committee in Baghdad during this year. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Hussein met, today, Monday, in Muscat, Al Busaidi, and the two sides discussed during the meeting the relations between the two brotherly countries, and stressed the need to expedite the convening of the joint committee, with the aspiration to hold it in Baghdad during this year, with the aim of signing a number of memoranda of understanding that serve the interests of the two brotherly countries. For his part, the Omani Minister expressed his pride and appreciation for the efforts made by Iraq to build bridges of cooperation and build trust, and its endeavor to develop the fields of tourism, health security, and other sectors, including private sector development.
