Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian justified his country's recent attack on Israel today, Sunday, "to bring peace to the region." Pezeshkian said in a press statement: "The missile attack on the Zionist entity was aimed at curbing its brutality and preventing it from expanding its crimes in the region." He explained that "our attack on the Zionist entity was to bring peace to the region and contain the tensions it causes." The Iranian President explained that "our operation was carried out in accordance with the United Nations Charter and only military targets were hit." He pointed out that Iran "refrained from an immediate response to the assassination of our martyred guest (Ismail) Haniyeh in the hope that the ceasefire efforts would succeed."
