Al-mughayyir: Arab and international diplomats on Wednesday made a solidarity tour in support of the students of the secondary boys' school in al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah. This visit comes in the wake of a violent incident where armed Israeli colonists attacked the school, resulting in the tragic death of a 14-year-old student, Aws Al Naasan, and injuries to several other children.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, members of the diplomatic corps to Palestine participated in this tour almost a week after the attack on April 21. The delegation included notable figures such as EU Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process Christophe Bigot, EU Representative to Palestine Alexandre Stutzmann, Jordan's Ambassador to Palestine Issam Al-Bdour, alongside a host of EU and international diplomats. Ramallah Governor Laila Ghannam and Minister of Education and Higher Education Amjad Barham were also part of the delegation.
The participants emphasized the purpose of the tour as an effort to bolster students' resilience, affirm their right to safe education, and reject the ongoing Israeli attacks against the school and its students. They highlighted the necessity of supporting the residents of Al-Mughayyir, together with students and teachers, through cooperation with local and international partners to ensure a secure educational environment.
During the visit, students at the school raised slogans condemning the colonist attacks and ongoing Israeli violations, asserting their right to free and safe education. At the end of the tour, several participants visited the family of the slain student, Aws Al Naasan, to offer their condolences.
