The British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hickey, visited today, Sunday, the head of the Azm Alliance, Muthanna Al-Samarrai, in his office in Baghdad. According to a statement by the Alliance's media office, the meeting included 'discussing a number of issues of common interest between the two countries and enhancing bilateral cooperation in multiple fields, including political stability and the importance of completing constitutional and legislative entitlements and electing a speaker for the Iraqi Council of Representatives according to established customs and contexts, and ways to support the efforts of the Iraqi government in the fields of security, economy, development and investment. The statement added, "The two sides also exchanged views on current regional issues and affirmed their commitment to enhancing security and peace in Iraq and the region." The meeting was attended by the head of the Sovereignty Bloc in Parliament, MP Salem Al-Issawi and some of its MPs, in addition to a number of representa tives of the Azm Alliance.
