The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced Wednesday that its Board of Governors will convene Friday at agency headquarters to examine latest nuclear plant updates in Ukraine. A brief statement issued by IAEA's media office said that the meeting was called for by the Board chief prompted by a message he received from the Agency's permanent envoy to Ukraine, urging the board to hold an urgent meeting. The meeting, reported the statement, will be closed to media outlets and press. IAEA's Director General Rafael Grossi had stated previously that board resolutions, arrangements made and plans proposed to the UN Security Council, all aim to deter attacks on nuclear facilities.
