Head of the Azm Alliance, Engineer Muthanna Al-Samarrai, met in Baghdad today, Sunday, with the Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl al-Haq, Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali. According to the statement by Al-Azm Alliance, the meeting discussed the latest developments in the political situation and constitutional entitlements related to the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the importance of adhering to the established mechanisms, maintaining political balance, and strengthening Parliament's legislative role in making national decisions. Views were also exchanged on the best mechanisms to overcome the challenges facing the political process, give priority to the supreme national interest, and the need for political forces to bear the responsibility of continuous coordination and consultation to achieve political and social stability, and support the government's efforts in confronting economic and security challenges at the local, regional and international levels.
