Baghdad, Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission Ali Al-Moayyad pledged today that the media will be at the forefront of combating drugs. The Commission stated in a statement: "The Chairman of the Federal Integrity Commission Haider Hanoun visited the headquarters of the Communications and Media Commission and met with its Chairman Ali Al-Moayyad, where the two sides held a joint press conference attended by a large number of media outlets." During the conference, Hanoun stressed the "importance of educating about the constitution and adhering to its provisions," stressing that "corruption began when people accepted that there would be a jump on the texts of the constitution" and allowing interference in the work of institutions and encroachment on constitutional texts," considering this "part of corruption." He stressed that "the Federal Integrity Commission will stand with institutions that are subjected to pressure or threats, and that it will intervene legally when any institution is subjec ted to illegal acts that affect its performance," stressing "the importance of the role of the media in combating corruption," noting that "the media is the eye that reveals the truth of things to the citizen," calling for "establishing transparency in all its details," considering that "transparency without media and without conveying the facts to the people is not transparency." He called on the media to "deal more with the Religious Authority project, which can be considered an integrated project to combat drugs in the country." For his part, Al-Moayyad praised "the cooperation with the Integrity Commission, stressing that the Iraqi media is protected by information and is welcomed in state institutions to convey the truth to citizens, in conjunction with the directives of the President The Council of Ministers, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, who stressed the need to deal with corruption files raised by the media with exceptional importance. He called on the Iraqi media to "start a new phase of work based on sorting between the honorable and the corrupt, and confronting suspicious agendas that attempt to distort the facts and manipulate public opinion."
