Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi met with Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita on Friday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York as part of Arab coordination on developments in the Gaza Strip and the region. The ministers stressed the need for an effective international effort to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank, protect civilians and ensure the sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid across the Gaza Strip. Safadi also stressed the need to halt the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, emphasizing Jordan's firm support of Lebanon's security, sovereignty, stability and the safety of its citizens and institutions. He also emphasized adherence to UN Security Council Resolution 1701. Safadi warned of an explosion of the situation and dragging the region into a war if Israel continued its aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, the dangerous escalation in the West Ba nk and violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
