Ramallah - Together - The Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy held a workshop to discuss the draft law on electronic transactions and trust services, on Wednesday at the Ministry's headquarters, in the presence of representatives of public and private sector institutions. Sharhabeel Al-Zaeem, said that the Palestinian government attaches great importance to the policies and strategies of transformation and the digital economy, and this req uires all institutions to cooperate, exchange experiences, and prepare the necessary legal and legislative environment to launch electronic transactions and trust services. In this context, the Executive Director of the Institutional Reform Office, Dr. Muhammad Al-Ahmad stressed that the Electronic Transactions Law must be supplemented with a package of rules and regulations to facilitate and accelerate its implementation and implementation, indicating that these strategies aim to facilitate the lives of citizens and open new horizons for benefiting from the digitization sector in developing all sectors. The meeting also included a presentation on digital trust services and the draft law, a general discussion of the comments of representatives of participating institutions, and an agreement to hold dialogue sessions in the future to complete work on developing the law to serve the Palestinian situation. The Electronic Transactions and Trust Services Law constitutes the cornerstone towards preparing an effe ctive legislative and regulatory environment that includes regulating the work of digital trust services, and monitoring and supervising the providers of these services, through the Supervisory Authority for Digital Trust Service Providers and in harmony with international best practices in this field.
