33rd Arab Summit: Amir of Kuwait’s Representative Highlights Importance of Palestine to Regional Stability
Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, representative of the Amir of Kuwait, and Prime Minister, affirmed that the region would not enjoy security, peace and stability, and its people would not feel justice without the brotherly Palestinian people obtaining all their legitimate rights, and the occupying power submitting to the will of The international community.
In a speech before the33rd Arab Summit held in the Bahraini capital, Manama on Thursday, he expressed the State of Kuwaits categorical rejection of calls for the forced displacement of the people of the Gaza Strip and the imposition of humanitarian consequences on neighboring countries, which constitute a violation of the principles of international humanitarian law.
He stressed the importance of the international community and the Security Council assuming its responsibility and taking a decision requiring the occupation forces to immediately stop military operations in the Gaza Strip, and condemning the barbaric attack launched by the Israeli o
ccupation forces on the city of Rafah, and the resulting consequences for civilians in light of the lack of safe havens.
The representative of the Amir of the State of Kuwait stressed the necessity of providing the necessary international protection for the brotherly Palestinian people, quickly introducing humanitarian aid, and preventing the repercussions of the expansion of the war in the region, pointing to the important main role played by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
He also pointed out Kuwait’s call on the Security Council to adopt a resolution granting the State of Palestine full membership in the United Nations, reaffirming its firm position towards the Palestinian issue and its commitment to everything that achieves and guarantees the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and the justice of their cause, adhering to the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, and establishing a Palestinian state based on The borders of
