Malaysian Ambassador to Amman Mohamad Nasri Abdul Rahman emphasized the importance of enhancing development cooperation between Malaysia and Jordan during the graduation ceremony of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program, held at the Malaysian Embassy on Monday evening. In the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and members of the Malaysian University Alumni Association, the ambassador noted that Jordan is one of the main beneficiaries of the program, with 510 Jordanian officials participating in training initiatives across various fields, including technical and vocational education, public administration, cybersecurity, and Islamic finance. The ambassador remarked that feedback from Jordanian participants has been largely positive, with many reporting that the training programs have equipped them with essential skills. He expressed hope for increased participation from Jordanian officials in future cooperation program offers. Established in 1980 as part of Malaysia's commitment to South-South cooperation, the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program plays a vital role in sharing Malaysia's development expertise with other countries. Since its inception, over 34,000 participants from 144 countries have benefited from the program. The ambassador noted that the program has been managed by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010, highlighting a shift toward prioritizing strategic partners and expanding collaboration with new development partners through public-private partnerships. During the graduation ceremony, Amjad Namoura, a participant in the program, shared that the initiative provided him with valuable knowledge and experience in his field.
