A new initiative celebrating Yemeni and Palestinian popular heritage was launched on Tuesday in the capital Sana'a, aimed at university students from both public and private institutions. The program, organized by the Educational Affairs Sector and the Competitive Competitions Project in collaboration with Al-Hikma University, is themed "You Are Not Alone" and involves 22 universities. The initiative seeks to bolster students' faith identity and moral values, while encouraging active participation in preserving cultural heritage. It also aims to foster a stronger relationship between students and their roles in social and economic development. During a ceremony held alongside the program, former Minister of Higher Education and International Research Hussein Hazeb was honored for his contributions. Hazeb expressed gratitude for the recognition and congratulated the new Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, on his appointment. Dr. Salah Misfer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees o f al-Hikma University, commended the previous ministry leadership for their efforts in supporting private universities amid challenging conditions. Dr. Yahya Abu Hatem, Chairman of the Union of Private Universities, also praised Hazeb's efforts in advancing higher education and academic standards. The event, attended by university leaders and students, concluded with Hazeb receiving Shields of Loyalty from al-Hikma University and the Union of Private Universities in recognition of his significant role in enhancing Yemen's private education sector.
