Israel Transfers Palestinian Child to Administrative Detention for Four Months

Hebron: The occupation intelligence service issued an administrative detention order against Hanaa Haitham Ismail Hammad, 17, from Hebron, for a period of four months. This brings the number of female prisoners held under administrative detention to 10, out of 41 in Israeli prisons.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Commission of Detainees' Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) indicated that Hammad was detained on June 9, after occupation forces raided her home in Al-Arroub camp. During her detention, Hanaa and her mother, who was detained alongside her and later released, were subjected to field interrogations and abuse.

The Commission and the PPS released a joint statement noting an increase in the number of administrative detainees since the beginning of the genocide, including women and children. As of early June 2025, the total number of administrative detainees reached 3,562, with at least 95 being children under the age of 18.

The policy of administrative detention has seen various transformations in recent years. Despite growing resistance through hunger strikes and court boycotts, the occupation has developed new methods to solidify this practice. Since the beginning of the war of genocide, eight administrative detainees have died in Israeli prisons, among the 72 who have perished during this period.
