While Israel set free 30 Palestinians in a swap deal, its forces detained 40 others in West Bank raids

As 30 Palestinian detainees in Israel got a chance to return home to the West Bank and East Jerusalem early this morning in the prisoners' swap deal, Israeli occupation forces were busy detaining Palestinians in raids across the West Bank, rounding up even more than the number of prisoners released. The Palestinian Prisoners Commission and the Prisoner Society said that the Israeli army detained 40 Palestinians in these raids, including two girls and former prisoners, mainly in Hebron, Bethlehem, Tulkarm, and Jerusalem governorates. At least 10 were detained in the Hebron governorate, seven in the Jerusalem governorate, eight in the Bethlehem governorate, and nine in Tulkarm, including siblings and fathers and sons. In addition, two were detained in Qalqilya, one in Jericho, and three in Tubas, said the organizations. With the latest arrests, Israel has detained 3365 Palestinians in the occupied territories since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7.
