Weather forecast: Cloudy, rainy conditions expected

Weather today is partly cloudy to cloudy and very cold with a drop of temperature, which approaches 7°C below the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Sporadic torrential rain showers along with thunderstorms and occasional hail are expected, with the chance of rain gradually tapering off towards the evening. Moderate to active southwesterly to westerly wind blows in daytime with occasional gusts of 60 km/h, while westerly to southwesterly wind blows in the night. Sea waves are high.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 7°C and a low of 3°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 6°C and a low of 2°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 10°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 14°C and a low of 10°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Friday’s temperature is set to rise to 3°C below the seasonal average, paving the way to cloudy to partly cloudy and cold conditions. The chance remains for sporadic light rain showers until midday.

Saturday’s temperature is set to further rise and become seasonal, paving the way to mainly clear and slightly cold to fair conditions in daytime and cold conditions in the night.

An additional rise of temperature is expected on Sunday, becoming slightly unseasonably high and paving the way to slightly cold to fair conditions in daytime and cold conditions in the night.

PMD warns people against flash floods in flood-prone areas, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility.
