US Vice President Kamala Harris succeeded in obtaining the necessary votes to ensure the Democratic Party's nomination for her to run in the upcoming presidential elections against Republican candidate Donald Trump, next November. The Democratic National Committee announced that Harris was the only candidate in the electronic ballot, which lasted for five days, after four thousand delegates signed petitions supporting her candidacy, as she will be officially nominated at the party's conference in /Chicago/ later this month. In a related context, sources reported that Kamala Harris's campaign included three senior advisors, including two prominent strategic experts who led former President Barack Obama's campaign to win two consecutive terms. The same sources explained that David Plouffe, who served as Obama's presidential campaign manager in 2008 and was a prominent aide during his victory in 2012, has joined Harris' presidential campaign as a senior advisor. Stephanie Cutter, a Democratic Party member an d public relations expert and former White House public relations director and Obama's deputy campaign manager, has also joined the campaign as a senior advisor for strategic communications.
