Geneva - Together - The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced on Saturday that about 12,000 children have been injured since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. UNICEF spokeswoman Tess Ingram said, "Gazan children's injuries range from devastating injuries caused by air strikes to psychological traumas resulting from violent clashes." Ingram confirmed, in a video clip published by the United Nations account on the X platform, that 'the stories of the children of Gaza reflect a horrific picture of the humanitarian consequences of the conflict.' She pointed out that "about 12,000 children have been injured since the beginning of the conflict in the Gaza Strip." Yesterday, Friday, UNICEF spokesman James Elder said in a post on the X platform: 'Current reports indicate that more than 14,000 boys and girls have been killed as a result of the war launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip since last October 7.' Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that h as left more than 110,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data. Israel continues its war despite the issuance of an immediate ceasefire resolution by the Security Council, and despite its appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing "genocide."
