New York: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) declared on Monday that $1.051 billion had been raised in response to the flash appeal the UN had issued concerning Gaza and the West Bank. This amount constitutes more than 87 percent of the required response, totaling $1.2 billion. Last November, the United Nations and partners issued an urgent plea to implement their response plan to assist 2.2 million people in the Gaza Strip and half a million in the occupied West Bank.
