The Turkish Ministry of Defense on Thursday announced the elimination of more than 100 militants in northern Syria and Iraq within one week. The Ministry said, in a statement, that 108 militants, including leaders, were eliminated within a week, 67 of them in northern Iraq, and 41 in northern Syria, noting that the total number of militants who have been eliminated since the first of last January has so far reached 953, including more of the 500 were stationed in northern Syria. The Turkish security forces were launching pursuit and tracking operations for people suspected of belonging to ISIS and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), since the country had witnessed bombings and armed attacks in a number of civilian and military sites over the past years.
