Tunisia sent on Monday the first ship loaded with medical and food aid to the Gaza Strip through Egypt, after sending in the past few months five military planes loaded with relief supplies. A Tunisian boat carrying 1,609 tonnes of medical and humanitarian aid set sail from the Port of Rades, bound for Egypt then Gaza, as part of a drive to show solidarity with the Palestinian people, said spokesperson for the Tunisian Red Crescent Boutheina Gragba. It carries 1,609 tonnes of medical and food aid supplies, two ambulances, four mobile basic healthcare units, 19 water tanks, a dialysis unit, medicines and food, the statement added. The ship will dock at Port Said, next Thursday to unload the humanitarian aid, which will be transported by trucks to Gaza via the Rafah border crossing in coordination with Egyptian authorities and the Egyptian Red Crescent, the statement said. This would be the sixth aid shipment sent by Tunisia to Gaza since start of the ongoing aggression on Gaza Strip. Source: Kuwait News Age ncy
