The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of 1,151 Kurdistan Workers' Party militants in its military operations in northern Iraq and Syria since the beginning of this year. Turkish Defense Spokesman Zeki Akturk said in a press conference held today, Thursday, at the ministry's headquarters in Ankara: The Turkish army's operations in northern Iraq and Syria during the past five months resulted in the killing of 1,151 PKK militants, including 521 in northern Iraq and 630 in northern Syria.
