Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerli Kaya announced the arrest of 23 people suspected of belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS in a security operation that included 7 Turkish states. Kaya said in a statement today that the arrests were carried out "in the provinces of Hatay, 10 accused, in Yalova, 5 accused, in Konya, one accused, in Yozgat, 3 accused, in Çanakkale, one accused, in Sakarya, two accused, and in Tekirdag, one accused." Kaya noted in his statement that, 'Since the first of last June until April 22, the Turkish security services carried out 1,422 operations against ISIS throughout the country. He added: "During these operations, 2,991 people suspected of belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS were arrested, and 718 of them were officially arrested, while 566 of them were conditionally released under judicial supervision."
