Minister of Justice, Khaled Shwani, received today, Monday, in his official office, Chargé d'Affairs at the French Embassy, Jean-Christophe, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed relations of cooperation and joint coordination in the judicial and legal fields.
The minister reviewed, according to a statement by the ministry, the reforms that were carried out during the period of government headed by Al-Sudani, and in particular the implementation of the national plan for human rights in accordance with international standards.
Shwani stressed Iraq's endeavor to strengthen and develop relations with France, with regard to concluding and activating agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two countries.
For his part, the French charge d'Affairs appreciated the efforts made by the Ministry of Justice to achieve great strides in the field of applying human rights standards in the judicial departments, stressing France's support for the Iraqi government through joint cooperation between the two countries.
