Ramallah - Ma'an - Minister of Culture, Imad Hamdan, affirmed the Ministry's commitment to supporting the publishing sector in Palestine and providing everything necessary to develop and organize it, and to support this industry, whose role is not only to print books, but to support the author and disseminate knowledge. This came during his meeting with members of the administrative body of the Palestinian Publishers Association at the Ministry's headquarters on Monday. Minister Hamdan praised the efforts made by the Publishers Union to support the publishing and book industry in Palestine, despite all the challenges and obstacles facing this sector in Palestine, stressing the strengthening of the actual integrated partnership between the Ministry and the Union. Minister Hamdan continued that the government's approach emphasizes true partnership with partner institutions in the relevant sectors, and that these sectors will be involved in any laws that will be issued regarding intellectual property and regu lating the publishing sector in particular. In turn, the Chairman of the Administrative Board of the Palestinian Publishers Association, Sameh Dendis, reviewed the challenges faced by publishers in Palestine and the restrictions imposed on publishing, stressing the need for government support to strengthen this field, stressing the commitment of publishers to work seriously to advance the publishing industry in Palestine.
