Iran Reports 30% of Casualties in US-Israeli Attacks Are Children

Tehran: Children account for 30% of those killed in one week of US-Israeli attacks on Iran, the Iranian Ministry of Health said Sunday. In a statement, the ministry reported that 198 women and 190 individuals under the age of 18, including six children under five, lost their lives in the ongoing assaults.

According to Anadolu Agency, the youngest victim identified was an eight-month-old baby girl. In contrast, the oldest fatality recorded was an 88-year-old man. The ministry further clarified that among the wounded, there were 1,044 women, 584 individuals below 18 years, and 54 children under five years of age.

The Iranian authorities have reported over 1,200 deaths, including prominent figures such as Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and top military officials. Additionally, more than 10,000 individuals have sustained injuries since the attacks commenced on February 28. In retaliation, Tehran launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf nations hosting US military assets.
