The Body Of One Of Arbaeen Pilgrims Recovered From The Euphrates River In Babylon

The river police recovered today, Monday, the body of a drowned pilgrims from the Euphrates River, passing through al-Musayyib district, north of Hilla, the center of Babylon Governorate.

Brigadier General Adel Al-Husseini, media director of Babylon Police, said: “The body was recovered from the Euphrates River passing through al-Musayyib district, and it is for one of the Arbaeen visitors from Baghdad, who is an eighteen-year-old man.”

He added, “The police transferred the body to the forensic medicine office, and an investigation was opened into the accident.”

It is noteworthy that this incident is not the first of its kind, as a number of pilgrims drowned in the Euphrates River passing through Babylon Governorate, as a result of swimming due to the high temperature. The Babylon police have repeatedly warned against swimming in rivers due to the danger of that.
