The MP of the State of Law Coalition, Thaer Makhif Al-Jubouri, reiterated his confirmation that there are no new candidates for the presidency of the parliament other than those previously nominated, noting: "The Coordination Framework rejects amending Article 12 of the House of Representatives Law." Al-Jubouri said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency /NINA/: "The blocs are waiting for the Sunni blocs to agree to choose one of the previous candidates participating in the first round, because new candidates cannot be added to the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives." He pointed out: "The competition will remain between Salem Al-Issawi, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani and Talal Al-Zubaie." He stressed the State of Law Coalition's continued support for the nomination of Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani for the position of Speaker of Parliament, indicating: "The parliament will hold a special session to elect the new Speaker of the House of Representatives after the Sunni blocs agree on the name of the candidate.
