AMMAN: Jordan today condemned the terrorist attack committed by Israeli colonists against the town of Jit, east of Qalqilya in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the killing of at least a man overnight Thursday. Spokesperson for Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sufyan Al-Qudah, held in a press statement Israel fully responsible for the terrorist attack against Jit as well as for allowing such acts of colonist terrorism. He stressed that Israel, the occupying power, bears full responsibility for aiding and abetting all violations and assaults arising from its unilateral aggressive measures against the Palestinian people and their land and houses by means of colonial settlement construction and expansion and the forced displacement of Palestinians from their houses. He affirmed Jordan's absolute rejection of the intensification of colonists' attacks against Palestinians, as colonists' attacks mark a continuation of the serious escalation unleashed by Israeli colonists in the occupied P alestinian territories since the onset of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. He called on the international community to impose deterrent sanctions that would bring an end to attacks perpetrated by supremacist colonists and renewed the call for the international community to assume its responsibilities and take a clear position that would bring an end to the ongoing Israeli violations of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law, and oblige Israel to adhere to them. He also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in terms of providing the necessary protection to the Palestinian people and realize their inalienable rights, in particular their right to an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
