The Security Media Cell announced the fall of two missiles in the vicinity and inside Baghdad International Airport. The cell quoted an authorized security source as saying in a statement, "At 00:20 on October 1, 2024, two Katyusha rockets fell, the first in the garage of the second regiment of the Counter-Terrorism Service, while the other fell in an abandoned yard inside Baghdad International Airport, without recording any injuries or human losses." The source added: "The security forces found the launch platform in a Kia truck in Asriyah village in Al-Amiriya area, and inside it were a number of missiles that were not launched and others that exploded near it, while forensic and explosives experts began processing the unlaunched missiles and dismantling them under control."
