Saudi and Turkish Foreign Ministers stress the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and the implementation of the “two-state solution”

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan stressed the need for a ceasefire in Gaza, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and the revival of the political track through the two-state solution. Fidan said during a press conference with his Saudi counterpart: "We discussed several important regional and international files, most notably our support for the need to cease fire in Gaza." Fidan pointed out that "Israel and Netanyahu have no intention of peace and reaching an agreement, but rather participate in the negotiations in a showy manner (propaganda), and the attacks that occurred yesterday confirm this.. Israel and Netanyahu always obstruct any ceasefire agreement." He continued, "We must say strongly that Israeli officials must appear before international courts, and Israel must withdraw from Gaza, so that the reconstruction process can begin." He stressed that the radical solution lies in supporting and implementing the two-state solution on the 1967 borders, and t hat any (unjust) peace in Palestine cannot last. He explained that Turkey and Saudi Arabia stressed the need to establish peace in the region. On the other hand, Fidan pointed out that he discussed with his Saudi counterpart developing and strengthening relations between the two countries, in all political, economic and commercial fields, noting that "Saudi Arabia is one of the largest countries in which Turkish contractors work, and accordingly our companies make important contributions to the Vision 2030 project and hosting the World Cup.. We discussed and emphasized the need to strengthen our military and security cooperation." For his part, the Saudi Foreign Minister stressed during the conference in Istanbul, the agreement with the Turkish side regarding Gaza and the tragic conditions in the sector, and the need to reach an immediate ceasefire and deliver humanitarian aid to civilians. He stressed the need to find an effective political move by reviving the two-state solution path. Farhan added: "We discussed the joint move within the framework of the joint committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League.
