The events and activities of the Sana'a International Coffee Exhibition and the Coffee Marketing Festival, organized today ,Monday, by the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry , the General Corporation for Coffee Development and Marketing, continue. The exhibition and festival activities include offers and products from all types and varieties of coffee from 140 participants, including exhibitors, exporters, institutions, coffee exporting companies, producers, farmers, coffee merchants and tasters. The program of events included organizing a scientific lecture on agricultural practices for the coffee crop, presented by Dr. Amin Al-Azab, and another lecture by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Muflhi on pests and diseases that affect the crop and ways to combat them. The National Tasting Team also conducted introductory sessions on tasting and preparing or roasting specialty coffee. These activities and events come within the programs of the National Yemeni Coffee Day, which Yemen celebrates on the third of March every year, to introduce and promote Yemeni coffee to restore its important role as one of the economic crops. Coffee is considered one of the most important agricultural crops for which Yemen has been famous since ancient times, until it became part of the country's history, civilization and identity.
