Tens of thousands of worshipers performed Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, while hundreds were prevented from entering Al-Aqsa due to restrictions imposed on young men and boys in particular. The Islamic Endowments Department estimated the number of worshipers in Al-Aqsa at 35,000 worshipers. The occupation forces prevented hundreds of Palestinian and foreign worshipers from entering Al-Aqsa, and assaulted many of them by beating and pushing them to keep them away from the vicinity of Al-Aqsa. The forces also prevented foreign Muslims from entering Al-Aqsa. The forces also attacked the young men and forcibly removed them from the Old City of Jerusalem, and pursued them through its alleys to prevent them from hearing the sermon and praying through the minarets of Al-Aqsa and performing prayers on its steps. While the deportees and those banned from entering performed the prayer at the nearest point they could reach. Since October 7, the occupation authorities have imposed strict restrictions on the ent ry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa. At the beginning of the first months of the war, the ban was imposed on everyone and on all days. After the restrictions were eased during the month of Ramadan and entry to Al-Aqsa was allowed, immediately after the end of the holy month, the restrictions returned on Fridays and during religious holidays and occasions, and young men and boys are particularly banned.
