Maysan police detachments arrested a man and a woman accused of drug trafficking, during thorough searches at security checkpoints south of the governorate. Maysan Police Command said in a statement: "The Martyr Major Musa Jabbar checkpoint, in cooperation with the Drugs Directorate, was able to arrest a man and a woman on charges of drug trafficking while they were passing through the security checkpoint. It added: "The accused were found in their possession of a medium-sized bag of crystal meth hidden inside a woman's bag, indicating that all legal measures were taken and they were referred to the competent authorities."
