Doha: Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), concluded its summer training camp program, which aims to instill the spirit of technological innovation and promote entrepreneurship among university students in Qatar. The program enabled participants to gain valuable practical skills and experience, in addition to providing them with opportunities to communicate closely with various companies and startups hosted by QSTP. The program, which extended for three months, starting last June, was able to attract more than 800 candidates, where 40 students representing six universities and 13 nationalities were selected to join the program. Haifa Al-Abdullah, Director of Innovation at Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), said: "Developing basic technical skills and entrepreneurship, which enable young talents to impact society, has always been at the forefront of our priorities at Qatar Science and Technology Park," noting that the new summer training program allows studen ts to gain practical experience, connect with a group of leaders and experts in the sector, gain a deeper understanding of trends, and enhance technological practices. The program also included organizing a series of distinctive summer workshops in which students from the summer training camp and startups based at Qatar Science and Technology Park participated, and included various topics, such as quantum computing, business models, and design thinking. Among the experts who presented the workshops were Dr. Saif Al-Kuwari, Director of the Qatar Center for Quantum Computing at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Naif Al-Ibrahim, CEO of "Ibtikar", and Ramadan Al-Naimi, Founder of "Innovation Café". It is worth noting that the program was able to enhance knowledge and hone the skills of participants in the fields of innovation and technology, strengthen ties and relationships between participants, as well as improve efforts, strengthen cooperation, and instill a spirit of teamwork to solve problems.
