Doha, September 06 (QNA) - Al Wakrah SC announced Friday that it has signed striker Moayad Hassan to strengthen the first football team from Al Markhiya SC. The club said in its statement on its website on the (X) platform that the player, aged 32, has officially signed a contract to join the team to start his career starting from the current season 2024-2025. Al Wakrah signed during the current summer transfer period with Spanish coach Angel Miguel, and also added defender Tamim Al-Muhaizaa from Al-Markhiya Club, Cape Verde striker Ricardo Gomez from Al-Shamal Club, Danish defender Alexander Schultz from Urawa Red Club in Japan, in addition to Tunisian Issa Al-Aidouni from Union Berlin in Germany. The team won the Qatar Cup title last season after defeating Al Rayyan in the final 1/0, and finished the Qatari League championship last season in fourth place as well. Al Wakra team are preparing to face the Iranian Tractor team on September 18 in the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2, under its new name, after the draw placed it at the top of Group 1 alongside Tractor Iran, Mohun Bagan Super Giant India, and Ravshan Tajikistan.
