Colonists Abduct Palestinian from Bedouin Community Near Jerusalem

Jerusalem: Israeli colonists on Tuesday evening abducted a Palestinian civilian from the Bedouin community of al-Maazi, east of Jaba' town, northeast of Jerusalem, according to Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the organization stated that colonists broke into several dwellings within the community and abducted an inhabitant, leading to panic among the residents. Such incidents of violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property have become routine in the West Bank, with minimal prosecution by Israeli authorities.

The violence perpetrated by colonists includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among other acts. Currently, approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
